Every November, Ukrainians throughout the world commemorate the millions of victims of the genocidal famine inflicted on Ukraine by the Stalinist regime in Moscow in 1932-33. This famine is known as the Holodomor, which means death by famine. In Edmonton, in 1983, the first monument in the world dedicated to the victims of this famine was erected and dedicated to the victims of the Holodomor.
