Knights of Columbus COR Formation – Spring/Summer 2026
Following a fruitful Fall/Winter season, we joyfully continue our COR gatherings—an initiative of the Knights of Columbus encouraging Catholic men to deepen their spiritual life, strengthen fraternity, and grow in authentic Christian manhood.
COR—from the Latin cor, meaning “heart”—gives men a place to pray, connect, and become more fully alive in Christ.
Each session begins with the Divine Liturgy at 9:00 AM, followed by coffee, fellowship, and guided spiritual conversation. Together, we reflect on Scripture, learn from the Church’s wisdom, and support one another in our walk of faith.

🎯 Ongoing Theme for 2026:
“A Fisherman’s Guide to Faith and Life – Continuing Our Catechism Journey”
As we enter a new year, we continue casting into deeper spiritual waters. Our long-term formation path—A Fisherman’s Guide to Faith and Life—invites us to explore the foundations of our faith through the lens of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, illuminated by both Eastern and Western Christian traditions.
Over the next six months, our focus will unfold through three pillars:
1. The Commandments – Navigating the Moral Life
We will reflect on the Commandments not merely as rules, but as a map toward freedom, integrity, and holiness in a distracted world.
2. The Liturgical Year – Living in Sacred Time
Discover how the rhythm of feasts and fasts shapes the heart of a Christian man, rooting daily life in prayer and presence.
3. The Teachings of the Church – Forming a Mind in Truth
Together we examine essential doctrines—what the Church teaches, why she teaches it, and how these truths transform our lives.
Whether you have walked closely with the Lord for many years or are returning to the faith after time away, COR is a place to belong, to grow, and to encounter Christ with other men striving for holiness.
Our gatherings are open to all Catholic men, regardless of parish or background. Rooted in the spirituality of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC) and enriched by the fullness of the universal Church, we continue to “breathe with both lungs,” as St. John Paul II beautifully taught.
👉 We remain committed to monthly gatherings, with openness to expanding as the Holy Spirit inspires more men to join.
Come, pray, learn, and build a community of strong Catholic men.
In Christ,
Fr. Slavko Dumec
State Chaplain, Knights of Columbus Alberta/NWT
